Service Projects
ACC members participate in a variety of service projects that support our local community and neighbors around the world.

Ongoing Projects:
Hygiene Kits for Church World Service
Each year, ACC members collect and assemble hygiene and cleaning products for those suffering from disasters around the country and world that are distributed by Church World Service (CWS). ACC also serves as a yearly "Depot" where area churches can bring their congregation's CWS kit donations to us, and we transport everything together to the collection point in Rochester.
Donations for 2024 were received at ACC on April 15 & 16.
Our congregation's kits were assembled on April 21 after worship.
Souper Bowl of Caring
ACC is committed to helping those facing hunger and food insecurity in our community. One way we do that is by participating in the Souper Bowl of Caring. On Super Bowl Sunday, the congregation brings monetary and/or food donations to church. The money and items collected are distributed to area organizations and food pantries.
In 2022, we raised funds for Tiger's Den Food Pantry here in Amherst. In 2023, we donated canned goods to Tiger's Den, as well as supporting them, Friends of Night People, and Matt Urban Center with our financial contributions.
Our 2024 collection was success, with 92 pounds of cans donated to Tiger's Den and financial contributions going to them, as well as Friends of Night People and St. Luke's Mission of Mercy.
Home Again Program
Home Again is currently on hold while we look for a volunteer coordinator.
ACC has a long history of partnering with Journey's End Refugee Services' Home Again program. We collect an apartment's worth of furniture & household supplies that a family will need in their new home in Buffalo. Since we never know exactly when an apartment will become available, our volunteers mobilize quickly to load & prepare for move in day!
